In this review of both companies you will see why this is an easy choice.
In Liquid Web’s How To: Register a Domain through Manage page you learn how to add domain name registration for $15/year.
SiteGround simplifies everything and gives you a domain name for free. Upon signing up you can create a free domain for life.
One benefit of using Liquid Web is that you have the option of choosing between two control panels. You can choose Plesk or the cPanel control panel, which is the most popular hosting control panel on the planet.
I personally would never use a hosting company that does not offer cPanel. I would choose cPanel over other control panels but some site owners might prefer Plesk.
SiteGround offers only cPanel. But once again cPanel is the industry standard and in my opinion it offers the simplest interface and it allows you to easily navigate through your control panel.
Liquid Web has three privately-owned, state-of-the-art data center facilities in Lansing, Michigan. In their datacenters are expandable 13,500 kVA Utility Power Feeds, Multiple N+1 Generac Diesel Generators, and Multiple N+1 Powerware 9395 550 kVA UPS systems.
SiteGround has data-centers on three different continents for accelerated website speed. SG Datacenters include Chicago, USA, London, UK, Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Singapore. Any outages are prevented by multiple power feeds, SG power generators and enterprise-class UPS technology. All Datacenters are well protected by 24×7 human security, biometrics, access control man traps, bullet proof lobbies, and video surveillance.
After observing both websites it clear that SiteGround surpasses in site performance. Liquid Web offers a 99.91-95% uptime. This is decent but not the best. SiteGround displays their monthly and yearly uptime rating on their website. SiteGround has a consistent 99.99% uptime rating.
While Liquid Web offers slightly more storage space, SG websites load faster with around a 300ms page load speed rating. Liquid Web sites average around 500ms which is fast but not on the same level as SiteGround. SiteGround specializes in speed with SSD, NGINX web server technology, HTTP/2 enabled servers, and more.
Liquid Web is only an option for those who are not worried about the price. Compared to even other VPS hosting packages LW is expensive. Liquid Web no longer offers shared hosting at $14.95/mo so you are looking at paying $50 a month or more for VPS hosting. Liquid Web also offers managed WordPress hosting packages at $119 a month.
SiteGround offers premium hosting at a great price. With SiteGround you are able to host your website for only $3.95 a month. On top of that you get a free domain name. For new businesses, the startup cost can be a killer. With SiteGroud you are able to save as your business grows.

sungaia.org – I am a new customer to SiteGround and I have been very impressed with them so far. Their staff is very friendly and very helpful. They are ready to go the extra miles for you without any hesitation. I need to say that the customer service is outstanding! SiteGround is good value for money too. They offer three plans to suit you needs. The speed which they offer is fantastic! I am very glad that I chose this hosting company and I would recommend them to a friend.
allpar.net – Sometimes you pay a little more for value. LiquidWeb provides superb support and helps me fix my increasingly rare mistakes with real 24/7 support. They go above and beyond their service agreement. Since they learn from errors and re-engineer/invest as needed, downtime has gotten vanishingly rare over the years.
Liquid Web is a good company but is it truly worth the price? Against SiteGround it is not. SiteGround is more than enough for your business.
