In order to have a great business you need a great ecommerce platform to back you up. I will review, Zepo Vs Shopify, but most people will agree with me that this is no competition. Zepo is nowhere near the same level as Shopify and that is a fact. Please read carefully to find out why.

As I said in my Etsy vs Shopify online store comparison, Shopify has more features that will help you rank better. Of course I can say that there are actual SEO add-ons that you can install to improve your business, but there is more than that.
With Shopify you have advanced ecommerce analytics, automatic sitemaps.xml files, customizable H1, title and meta tags, and more. Some companies don’t display your meta descriptions correctly, and don’t index your items properly. With Shopify that will not be a problem. Although Zepo gives you SEO tips, they don’t really say anything about their SEO features and after searching for hours I could not find anything on the web.
If you want your shop to have different capabilities you can install apps. Shopify is known for having more apps that you can install on your website than most platforms. Zepo has 27 apps. Shopify has more complex apps and a larger selection with 1000+ apps.

This is a feature that all the top ecommerce platforms have. This is one of the top five things that you need to succeed. If you are not writing around your niche, business, and inventory you are missing out on sales, traffic, and you are losing in the world of SEO. You are putting a knife to your business and you are asking to fail. Shopify allows you to blog, but Zepo doesn’t and this is another reason why I don’t recommend Zepo.
One benefit of having Shopify is that you don’t have to have a Shopify link pointing back to their site.
Some of you might be saying that of course you won’t have this. The problem is that the same can’t be said about Zepo. Zepo places a badge on the bottom of your site that says, “want to sell online”. I don’t like this because it is a bad look for your company. It lessens the professionality of your website. None of the other popular ecommerce platforms have this. This is also an unprofessional tactic by Zepo to obtain link juice from their customer’s business.
This is an area where Zepo desperately lacks in. They have a shortage of templates and many complain that their site is not too response. They need to optimize their themes better for mobile use, which is important. Also, unlike with Shopify you will find that your landing pages are less customizable. The lack of deep customization is something that Zepo needs to take a look at.
Shopify allows for deeper customization and they have a page dedicated to show you step by step how you can do this. The good thing about being a large ecommerce platform is that you will have more theme designs and designers. You can go on Google and type Shopify themes and you will find that you have a lot to choose from.
Everyone will agree that Shopify is much easier to get around than Zepo. The user interface is uncluttered which lets you get more work done. Zepo is easy as well, but Shopify clearly wins in this category.

I’m pretty sure that some of you reading this now have tried to find information about Zepo to no avail. There is little information about them and I read a few unfavorable reviews. With Shopify you can’t get enough information. To me and to most people Shopify is the best ecommerce platform in the world. Most people who use Shopify are happy with their choice. All the blogs are raving about Shopify for a reason.

When it comes to your business, support matters. You need to be able to call your platforms support team at any time. Zepo support needs some work. Their phone support does not have the best response time. While their mail support is better than the phone support, their response time is slow as well. Zepo is a small company so these things are something that they will fix in the future.
Shopify is a larger company with more resources and they are known for their amazing 24/7 phone, live chat, email, and forum support. Since Shopify is bigger you’re going to find more tutorials, blogs, forums, Youtube videos, developers, apps, and experts to aid your business.
It is important that you choose a platform with impeccable uptime. If your site is always down, then you will be missing out on sales. Shopify takes all possible measures to make sure that your website is always up at 99.99%. Zepo does have a lot of reported downtime. It is usually for a minute, nothing really major, but even a minute can lose you a lot of money. Here is an occasion where Zepo was down for a few hours. Here is another occasion.
I will say this, at least Zepo is better than KartRocket, but against Shopify it is a no-brainer. Zepo is seeking to be the top Indian ecommerce platform, but more people in India are currently using Shopify India. Shopify India does way more for your brand. It has a better price, it’s easier, no hidden fees, and more add-ons. You can actually feel safe using it because it is well-known, and the support is better.
